Why Choose Stevens Square at Baxter Woods?
The Team
The Developer
Developers Collaborative has a vision rooted in serving the community while creating financially viable developments. Developers Collaborative is based on the belief that a developer has great responsibility. The ways that they intervene in the built environment will affect peoples’ lives for a long time. They feel all developers owe it to their respective communities to do more than just make a piece of land or building generate the highest short term financial return possible.
The success of their projects throughout Maine shows that DC make an extra effort to listen to neighbors and employ creative solutions in order to make successful places, employ a community-based approach to planning and building our projects, and frequently participate in public-private partnerships to achieve public goals.
Kevin Bunker founded DC with Richard Berman after graduating with distinction in 2007 from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design with a Master in Urban Planning degree. A former municipal planner and lobsterman in the Rockland area, Kevin is a principal on all of DC’s current projects, is also an activist promoting the causes of smart growth and downtowns at the state and local level. He was the recipient of the City of Portland’s prestigious Economic Development Achievement Award in 2019. Kevin lives in Brunswick with his wife Amanda and their daughters Alex and Natalie.
Mike Lyne provides oversight of many aspects of Developers Collaborative commercial real estate projects and Stevens Square at Baxter Woods. A 1986 graduate of Bowdoin College, and a former Alaska Smokejumper, Mike likens the thrill of putting out fires with the adventures of commercial real estate development and management. He has a passion for Maine’s Downtowns and guiding small mixed use projects that blend the commercial, historic and cultural needs of the community. He coaches youth lacrosse and has volunteered on the boards of the Brunswick Downtown Association, The Brunswick Recreation Commission, and GrowSmart Maine. Mike lives in Brunswick with his wife Kameron and two sons, Nolan and Sean.
The Architect
Archetype Architects - Archetype has been designing buildings of all types for clients throughout New England for over 20 years, including large scale office spaces, affordable and market rate housing, commercial retail spaces and mixed-use developments. Because Maine is the architects’ home too, they believe they have a duty to beautify the world we share and that they show up for the people in our communities.
David Lloyd is the principal architect who started his career in Boston working for several large firms including, IM Pei and Partners. He relocated to Bangor Maine in 1978 where he partnered with his Architect father, George Lloyd. During this time he worked on small scale office buildings and homes all while renovating an 1864 farm house with very few funds and simultaneously trying to help raise his two children Erika and Dylan. In 1982 he moved to Portland. Architecturally David’s most interesting projects involve an urban fabric, some historical context with contemporary additions, all with a developer at his side insisting on lowering project costs.
The Builder
Hebert Construction has grown over 75 years from a small residential carpentry company to one of northern New England’s leading construction contractors. With four generations of family leadership, they have earned an exceptional reputation for delivering the highest quality general contracting, construction management, design/build, and self-performing services.
The Real Estate Brokers
Ed Gardner -Ed is the Broker/Owner at Gardner Real Estate Group in downtown Portland with a broad experience in all aspects of real estate.
